Niassa Wildlife Reserve is nature as its best, spanning over 42 000 square kilometers much this reserve is only just been discovered, a safari to this area is to go where few have traveled; this safari is a journey of discovery. Lugenda Wilderness Camp provides visitors with the true quality of wilderness that is rare
to find on a safari today. The Camp has only 8 East African style tents which are located only 40m from the Lugenda River on the Eastern bank amongst the Ngalongue Mountains. The camp can only be reached by light aircraft between the month of June and December before the rains start. Expert rangers will lead groups of 4 on game drives and walks giving you an educational experiences and a chance to spot big game such as elephant, buffalo, hartebeest, eland and zebra abound. Other game such as impala, wildebeest, hippo, lion, leopard, warthogs and spotted hyena can also be seen.
						From the bush this package will take you to the majestic island of Medjumbe, located in the Quirimbas Archipelago which has often been compared to The Great Barrier Reef on Australia's East Coast for its diverse marine life. Medjumbe Private Island is only 800 meters long and 350 meters wide, and is surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. This stunning island gives you the feeling of been in isolated paradise! Suggested Itinerary
3 nights at Lugenda Wilderness camp 7 nights at Medjumbe Private Island
Day 1: Take a 90 minute light aircraft flight from Pemba to land on a dirt runway to the wilds of Lugenda Wilderness Camp. Settle in to your home for the next three nights and then enjoy your first night game drive. Day 2: Wake up for your morning game drive and perhaps breakfast with the grazing impala. Relax by the pool during the heat of the day, explore the surrounding wilderness and take in the knowledge of your experienced game ranger. Once the temperature cools down get ready for another game drive to see who is getting ready to hunt!
Day 3: As with all days you spend at Lugenda you will enjoy you scheduled safari activities, and why not enjoy some drinks whilst watching the sun go down on your last day in this magnificent setting.
						Day 4: Depart Lugenda via light aircraft, take a 90 minute flight to Pemba and then transfer to another light aircraft flight to Medjumbe Private Island, only a 30 minute flight. On your arrival enjoy a fruit platter and a bottle of wine which will be waiting to welcome you. Take a stroll around your new home; enjoy a mouth watering meal and your turn down surprise. Day 5 - Day 10: The world is your oyster! Medjumbe Private Island has a range of activities for you and your new partner to enjoy. Spend your days snorkeling, fishing, sun bathing, or trying out the
						abundance of water sport activities on offer. You even have the option to do a discounted PADI course for those of you who are keen divers.
