About Us

Aquila Private Game Reserve is situated on the R46, Touwsriver with 4 of the Big 5 under 2 hours from Cape Town. On your African Safari, you will retreat in comfort in one of our luxury or Premier luxury chalets. You can exchange your vows in picture-perfect settings surrounded by the magnificent Karoo Mountains & Valleys.

Your Wedding

It would be difficult to find a more magical venue to celebrate a special occasion than in the heart of the African Karoo bush, surrounded by stunning scenery, amazing wildlife and superb accommodation . Weddings at Aquila can be held at either the lodge or on various outdoor locations on the Reserve.

Catering: Our acclaimed chef prepares buffet feasts ranging from the traditional braai, spitbraai, potjiekos and bredies to a la carte dishes all suited to your requirements and special taste.

Bar Facilities: Aquila is fully licensed and has a pool & cigar bar.  Satellite bars can be set up to service your chosen location.

Aquila Accommodation

Premier Luxury Chalets

These units are privately situated and have been built into the hillside with the natural rock featuring in the bathrooms and outdoor showers. They are constructed from wood, stone and thatch and come equipped with fans, air conditioners and fireplaces. Each unit has its own patio with excellent views of the Reserve.

The honeymoon suite boasts a Jacuzzi with spectacular views across the reserve.

Luxury Chalets

These units are semi detached with particular attention paid to privacy. They are under thatch and feature exterior stone work using raw material from the area. They all have fans as well as feature a unique “coal” stove for those chilly winter evenings. The large en- suite bathrooms feature corner baths with outdoor showers.
