Even if it is just the two of you allow us to handle every aspect of your celebration – from paperwork, legalities, flowers, decorations, cake, photos, food, venue and honeymoon night to having your nails, hair and make-up done in the comfort of your own suite. All you have to do is arrive and indulge!

The Boland is famous for its perfect weather. Where better to enjoy 11 hours of daily sunshine than outdoors. For a budget wise option select birdsong as background music and panoramic views as décor and choose the Daytime Romance Package, available throughout the year, courtesy of our annual average of 250 sunny days. Make the most of the abundant sunshine and deep blue skies during Spring and Summer (September – January), a great time to experience the life cycle of promising vineyards to harvest celebrations. Alternatively enjoy a relaxed function with idyllic weather in Autumn (mid February to May) and be overwhelmed by the transformation of the landscape into a myriad of colours.

More about our Venue areas… Select one of the various romantic on-site areas to pledge your vows, and then match one of our reception areas to fit your personal style and the desired mood. All our packages include the use of our catering kitchen and most include access to the Garden Suite on the wedding day and accommodation for the wedding night. Our philosophy to host only one wedding at a time enables us to present a flexible range of lavish alternatives to allow for last minute changes, should there be a change in weather or plans.

Welcome and entertain your guests while waiting…

Set the scene with the soothing sound of trickling water, vineyard panoramas, glorious mountain vistas and views of Table Mountain. From the parking area guests enter under a flowering Bougainvillea Pergola towards the scented rose garden where a cup of coffee or glass of bubbly await, or proceed to the Vineyard Village Sunset Deck to gather around authentic wine barrels with inviting welcome drinks.

The Wedding Ceremony… 

A number of churches and places of worship are in close proximity but we offer various attractive on-site opportunities to pledge your vows. Select the charming and intimate chapel, popular as a weather-proof but view blessed setting or say “I-Do” on a sunny day under the romantic gazebo or shaded pergola. Summer or winter, indoors or outdoors – with six different ceremony areas we cater for individual needs and always have a ‘Plan B”.

The Photo Shoot… 

A photo speaks a thousand words – take your time to look your best for those captured moments that will last forever. Make use of various spectacular spots on the 155 hectare Bakenhof Wine and Grape Farm as backdrop to capture the perfect moment. Choose rolling vineyards, majestic mountains, panoramic fields, sparkling water, interesting farm scenes, park like gardens or our famous 2 km stretch of private tree lined driveway. Don’t forget about your guests – your photo session may take an hour or more! Occupy them with an entertaining tractor ride through our vineyards or offer elegant canapé’s and bubbly on the extensive view deck.

The Wedding Reception… 

Ideal for daytime weddings up to 14h00 our spectacular setting, gardens and grounds offer several outdoor reception opportunities with scenic vistas to accommodate up to 100 guests, including a white marquees tent.

On balmy summer nights select the Sunset Deck for a magical, elegant and romantic atmosphere created by fantasy lights, splendid trees and starry skies. For a glamorous indoor ambience choose the Crystal Lounge with framed panoramic views, shimmering crystal chandeliers and starry ceiling, suitable for up to 72 guests with a dance floor or 100 guests without. As an option the adjacent chapel can be incorporated to accommodate up to 100 guests with a dance floor. Alternatively express your unique personal style with a cosy winter wedding. Create a charming atmosphere with vine stoked fireplaces and enjoy the benefits of reduced winter rates and availability. Here, during cooler months, you will not compromise on photo opportunities or atmosphere and will you be enchanted by the opulent interior, snow capped mountains and warm country hospitality.

For Honeymooners and those getting married elsewhere… 

Bakenhof Bridal Packages feature the luxury to prepare and dress in lavish surroundings, a private setting for stunning pre-wedding photos, serene accommodation for the bridal party on the pre-wedding night and a romantic honeymoon suite to celebrate special new beginnings.

As important as all the pre-wedding arrangements, the night before your special day and the preparations on the day of your wedding need extra attention. Being in a luxurious and serene environment will contribute to your well-being and put you in a positive and right frame of mind to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Spoil yourself and spend your pre-wedding night with those people with whom you can kick off your shoes and relax. Awake the morning you say “I do” with birdsong and dress and prepare for the event in-style. Invite your hairdresser and make-up artist to an appropriate space to make you look the perfect picture and choose the luxurious areas, panoramic views and lush gardens of Bakenhof as backdrop to your pre-wedding photos.

Then comes your first night as Husband and Wife – not all honeymoon suites are made equally – choose Bakenhof because you deserve the best on your wedding night! Irresistibly romantic and supremely private, access to this suite is down a meandering, peach-husk covered driveway. Decorated in hues of white, crystal and marble this spacious suite features a dreamy canopy bed and en-suite bathroom with double basins, corner bath and spacious shower. Full length mirrors offer the bride a top-to-toe view and “dressing room” lights around the mirror add a theatrical flair. This suite is furnished with a kitchenette, complete with microwave, bar fridge and tea & coffee facilities. The stylish lounge overlooks a rose garden and a private patio offers the perfect spot to enjoy morning coffee and completes this private honeymoon haven.
