Mandy and Geoffrey
Mandy and Geoffrey[three_fifth] [dropcap color=”rosy”]T[/dropcap]hank you for allowing me to share my story with you. I usually find it so hard to write about anything else but when it comes to writing about my best friend and Fiancé (Geoffrey Smith)the drummer of a band called Soul Cadillac. It is a privilege just telling someone else about my story gives me joy because I have such an incredible man by my side.
The more time I spent with my boyfriend, I began to realize how much I wanted a marriage more than a wedding. Let me tell you my story….
I met Geoffrey on the 29thFebruary 2012 on Facebook, can you believe that? Yes true love exists in the most profound places. I have had boyfriends who met me in the bank, through relatives and even the car wash.Meeting Geoffrey on Facebook was not even surprising to me. The first message that e sent me was ‘Do I know you from somewhere?’ I replied by saying ‘I pick the right answer”.
I will never forget the day I chatted to him, I had a common friend with Geoff who was a musician and I had seen Geoff’s profile pic and thought wow, what a good looking guy.At this point I had no intention of falling in love. The reason why I had to mention how we met is because it all started with the interest of music, something we both have in common.
We have been dating for 10 months now and it feels like I have known Geoff all my life. On the 29th of September 2012 Geoff and his band had arranged to play at the White Mountain music festival in Drakensburg. The day that we had arrived at the venue, we set up our first camping tent together. I remember the entire event; it was the best day of my life, well so far.The band was playing at 10pm on a Saturday night. Geoff planned the proposal so well, he was so nervous before the gig; I had the impression that he got nerves as he always gets before playing on stage.
Anyway to cut to the chase, it was the 8th song that started playing on the list, the lead singer of the band mentioned that before he had carried on , there was something that needed to be done. He called up his drummer Geoff and the rest was history. I stood in the crowd wondering what the heck is going on….
I still remember what Geoff had said to me when before he proposed. He said ‘there comes a time in a man’s life where his gotta do what his gotta do’ it still makes me laugh. Off course I said yes! I could tell you about how I felt but that wouldn’t express how memorable the proposal was. It was truly something special and once in a life time. I have attached the link because I cannot do justice by telling you how amazing it was. At least I get to share my story with you.
Yes I picked the right answer…
