Tam and Wesley

Tam and Wesley

[three_fifth] [dropcap color=”rosy”]I[/dropcap] got proposed to on the 20th August 2012 and looking to get married on the 16th November 2013. I would like to share my exciting day with you.

Wes and myself have been dating for nearly 10 years now and met at a rugby game. He has the sweetest heart and I feel so blessed to have a man like him in my life as I have another family to experience moments with.

August 2012 was my first overseas trip, and we decided to go to Phuket Thailand and what an amazing trip it was. My fiance (boyfriend at that time), best friend (Ashleigh) and her man (Dean) came with. Every day we had something planned to do in Phuket as there was so much to do and see. On the 19th August we were sitting on the beach and Ashleigh and myself saw that the boys were planning something with us with one of the guides that we were communicating with from the start of the holiday. That night there was a huge party at club med and knowing us we partied until late. Then came the 20th August and got woken up at 6am to leave, and I refused (it was rainy and miserable outside). He said “come Tam please we need to go”. So seeing the worry in his eyes I thought okay lets go. So we walked to our friends rooms and noticed that Ash was still in her Pj’s, “sorry guys Dean has been up all night with a tummy bug, we can’t go”.

So off we waiting outside club med and waiting for the taxi to take us to this destination that Wesley had planned for us. We got onto a canoe at Ruwai Beach which took us out to sea with waves that I thought could probably kill us. Ha ha. Then we got to an island called “Banana Island” whereby we swam and snorkeled in the ocean, thinking that this could not get any better, we got called to the canoe again and was taken to a remote island where only famous celebrities were allowed to use as it cost so much. But our guide was amazing and got us secretly there.

Just as I laid down to tan, Wes said come Tam lets go for a walk. As he started to get all romantic to me, I said “ah Wes lets live on this island as you are so romantic here”, not having a clue what was in store for me. Then I started doing some wobble with my head and Wes called me “Noddy” so I started to do the noddy dance. Ha ha. We have such a fun relationship where we joke around a lot and really know what each other is feeling at anytime even when we are apart. Then he got on his knee and said Tam you are the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with. I love you so much. “Will you marry me?” We were shaking so much that he struggled to put the ring on my finger. This is the most beautiful ring in the world and it really symbolizes our love for one another.

This was the most amazing day of my life and I will never forget that feeling I got and my smile from ear to ear. From a grumpy morning to something I will remember forever. I never thought to this day that I would get proposed to overseas as I saved every last cent to go there and he’s such a mountain boy that I thought it would be in Eastern Transvaal somewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
