About Us

The Elephant Hide Guest Lodge is a hidden gem, a hide to seek situated on the Welbedaght clifftops. The spectacular views over the Belvedere and Phantom Pass side of the Knysna Lagoon are one of the many attributes the lodge has to offer. As the lodge is a family run business, we take great pride to ensure personal service and high standards throughout the lodge. Our intention is to create a warm ambiance, where one can relax and feel truly comfortable. Laid back yet stylish.

There is an earthy beauty to the lodge, the architecture combines stone and wood in and amongst the fynbos and ferns, thus allowing the lodge a feeling of being tucked away in an unspoilt slice of nature.

Louise Utermark our in-house wedding planner is available to assist you with as much or as little of all those finer details, she would like to help create your day to what you envisage it to be: an extension of your unique characters.

Louise is happy to help set up a budget and stick to it.

She works with professional and reliable service providers who all have the same high standard of service that she offers.

As no two weddings are the same, there are no set rules at the Elephant Hide of Knysna.
The lodge can house a celebration of 50 guests comfortably but are more than happy to assist with a close gathering of only friends and family.

For larger functions, we offer the lodge as a trendy cocktail function venue.

We offer a number of different ceremony options- Be it a relaxed flowing gazebo on the beach, romantic candle light stone chapel or an open aired sun streaked affair on the deck of the lodge. The reception is held in our main dinning area with its characteristic stone fireplace around which your evening comes to life.

Our wedding packages are quoted according to your requirements. The packages include accommodation for both you and 12 family members or close friends, allowing you to have exclusive use of the lodge…..To complete the circle the lodge offers unforgettable honeymoon packages which combine relaxation, romance, tranquillity and true pampering in style.
