About Us

Meerendal Wine Estate is situated in the cool Durbanville area twenty minutes outside Cape Town.

The estate dates back to 1702, when the farm was granted to Jan Meerland, one of the founding fathers of viticulture in South Africa.

This 300 year old estate with its 120 hectares of vineyard has undergone a renaissance since 2004 in order to blend our rich heritage with time honoured wine making techniques.

Our passion is to create wines that express the character of Meerendal, its vineyards and its people.

Your Wedding

Romance will lead you down paths you never knew existed. Celebrate your wedding day in the tranquil setting of Meerendal’s vineyards, wheat fields & mountain views. Exchange your vows in our quaint wooden, candle-lit chapel.

Chef, Alettea Malan, will spoil you, family & friends with sumptuous cuisine, while you sip on a glass of Meerendal wine from our cellar.

The Barn & Lawn is the perfect venue for a blissful wedding day. The venue is spacious & rustic, yet elegant. Large, wrought iron chandeliers & wood-slated chairs & tables create an earthy ambiance. Stack-up doors open up to a lush lawn and create an inside-outside venue, flooded with natural light.
