Leandri & Daniel[dropcap color=”rosy”]O[/dropcap]n saturday, 19 January 2013, Daniel and I had planned to spend the day together celebrating 3 years of dating.
We started our day at 10 AM and got onto a cape town hop on-hop off red tour bus, and headed off towards Hout Bay. Our first stop was at Kirstenbosch Gardens- where Daniel told me that we were getting off.
Just as we walked in, we were met by his brother and his wife and they took us to our “secret spot”. Our secret spot had been set up with a persian rug, big picnic cushions a champagne cooler filled with different drinks and champagne, and a very full picnic lunch.
We relaxed and spent time together chatting and hanging out and eventually left to get back on the bus. no proposal… yet 😉
We carried on with our tour through hout bay and back to the waterfront, where we got off- and i thought we were going home… we weren’t.
Daniel suprised me with a ticket to the AQUARIUM. we arrived at the Aquarium, and saw his other brother and girlfriend (During the week they had lied to me and told me that jackie- the girlfriend- had won the aquarium as a client at work and she was filming time lapses of people entering the aquarium etc for their website), so I thought nothing of it when I saw them. Daniel and I walked around the aquarium and eventually landed up at the SHARK TANK.
At the shark tank, Daniel and I sat down and we were watching the sharks etc. when he told me that we have come at the perfect time because they are going to feed the sharks. (Unknown to me that the shark feed actually happens an hour earlier at 3PM). So eventually I see a diver in the tank and thinking nothing of it I turned and told daniel it looks like theyre doing something… soon after the diver(s) got in there were a bunch of people who came walking into the shark tank area.- at the time I was thinking that I didnt know the shark feed was such a big thing.
Shortly after that I saw one of the divers pop his head around one of the tank walls and then dissappeared again. He then started swmmimg holding a sign, but only a question mark was showing…So i got all excited and thought OH MY WORD THE SHARK FEED IS A SHOW- HOW COOL! haha.
Eventually I saw that there were two divers and they were holding a sign that said:
WILL YOU MARRY ME?
That’s when Daniel got down on one knee and proposed to me 🙂
This is by far thee most romantic thing I have ever experienced, and I love the fact that I will always have this to tell people 🙂
