Michelle & Frikkie

[dropcap color=”rosy”]H[/dropcap]i, My name is Michelle, me and my fiance Frikkie are quite a story and half. We first met when I was 14 years old at someones Farm birthday party. Of course he introduced himself but I didn’t pay any attention to him. I was more interested in his friend whose farm it was. Evenly we started running into each other after I turned 16 years old and could finally go out. This is how it went until I was in matric where we finally started to hang out. I always wanted a serious relationship, one where you couldn’t wait to see that person every single day. I dated a few guys before Frikkie and was very disappointed as most of my exes didn’t really want a serious relationship. But back to me and Frikkie, we were sort of together for about 2 months before I started my last year of school and finally on the 31 January 2008, he asked me out one night in a club. I was so thrilled, I still remember his words he said Michelle, sal jy my meisie wees en ek jou ou. I said of course. Well I didn’t hear from him for that whole weekend and I said that next Monday at school to my friend if I don’t hear from him by 5 pm then I think he just was too shy or was taking me for a ride. However, 5pm came and he finally called to say that he was sorry that he didn’t hear from me the whole weekend but his phone broke and he wants to meet up at the Point (place in Mossel Bay) and that’s where we met every single day for the next 3 months. We finally decided it was time to meet each others parents and I finally thought wow this man wants to be serious with me. We met each other parents of course us both being very nervous and so we went on until the end of my last year of high school where I decided I wanted to move in with him. We have been living together this December for four years and I haven’t been happier, He has supported me in studies and I have supported him in everything. We basically grew together since we are 2 years apart. When we finally come to our 4 year anniversary, I was thinking of places where we could go since it was our tradition that every year we would go somewhere for our anniversary. This year he decided on a place and not telling me where we were going I was suspicious as usually I am the one deciding where we would go and organizing it for us. On the road to Cape Town we turned off into Montagu and thought well what is going on. He booked us in the most beautiful hotel there the Montagu Spring Hotel and we were going to stay there for the weekend. Later that evening we had supper and me thinking well here comes my moment that I will tell my grandchildren, which didn’t arrive, I later gave up on thinking it would happen that weekend. But that night in our own private Jacuzzi he had my favourite bottle of champagne and as the night went on he kept going back to the room saying he needed the bathroom, I thinking nothing of it thought oh he drank too much beer. He finally return and said to me aren’t your hands irritating you (as they had to turn prunes as hands do when in water too long), I said no I am fine and he kept telling me don’t you want to dry your hands. I kept saying I am fine and enjoying the beautiful night sky. As I looked down he was holding a little box in his hand and he said my meisie sal jy my vroujie wees. I started crying and he finally put the ring on my finger and then realized that he wanted to put the ring on my finger and didn’t want my hands wet. He asked me on our five year anniversary. Anyway we have been now together for more then 5 years and are still in love more then before since we are currently in a long distance relationship as he had to move to Cape Town for work and I am planning to move in December or January 2013. We are planning our wedding to be on the 14th September 2013 in the Mossel Bay area since we fell in love here.

I hope this story isn’t too long but I had to tell you our love story. I attached some pictures of us.

Hi. I’m the Carl from http://saweddingvenues.com/proposals-2013/justine-and-carl/
I know this is a competition, and that comments mean votes, but to me it is more than that.
This is about marriage and the people who take that step. You have chosen this path, and my wish is that your relationship may be blessed.
Congratulations on your engagement and all the best for the big day – and every day of your journey together.
