Sandpiper
Our new venue, Sandpiper, has been developed to meet the needs of couples who want to get married indoors, but close enough for the ceremony to take place on the beach.   Steps lead over an 8 m.  dune to the beach.    Steps up – wooden deck – steps down – and you are on a stretch of 30 km unspoilt beach! This beautiful rustic venue can take up to 100 guests.  You can arrange your own catering – we have great caterers to recommend. Please bring your own firewood or buy our braai kits for R30 each. You will have to organize your own catering, tablecloths and napkins. We can assist you with more information if you need it. Bar facilities:  We are fully licensed. All drinks must be bought from our bar.  The bar closes at 01:00 am.  A barman fee of R400 per barman will be payable.  If you need the barman between 24:00 and 01:00 am, an additional fee of R150 per hour or part of hour will be charged.

		WEDDINGS
		Venue fee, R12 000, including Sandpiper hall, three lounges/dining rooms, the dance floor, four fire-places, fairy lights in venue, linen tablecloths and  napkins, tables, chairs, cushions on chairs, crockery cutlery, glasses, tables for buffet.  Tent for ceremony on the beach.  For this you can rent our white aero-dynamic Bedouin tent (8 m  x 5 m.) for R1000.  Kitchen:  The kitchen is equipped with a six plate gas stove with oven, fridge/freezer, microwave oven.  Bar facilities (corkage):  We are fully licensed.  All alcohol, juices and cold drinks for the wedding must be bought from our bar.  You may bring your own wine and champagne at a corkage fee of R750.  The bar will close at midnight.

		Bar tab:  In the case where a bar tab (where the couple or parents will pay the liquor) will be arranged with the barman, a Payment to the amount expected to be spent, must be made to us two weeks before the wedding.  Settlement thereof will be finalized before 10 a.m. the following day either in the form of a refund or payment.  Alternatively, you can have a cash bar, where the guests pay for themselves.  Barman/barmen: We will hire the barman for you at a cost of R450 from 4 pm until midnight.  The barman comes from Cape Town and this fee includes his transport costs. The bar closes at midnight.  Music:  The music has to stop at midnight.  Decorations:  It is a good idea to keep to the natural/beach theme. We can supply shells for the center of the tables.  You can rent our glass lanterns.  These light up the venue beautifully. We have shells for your use.    We also have large glass square lanterns for use outside of the venue, on the path leading over the dune, etc.  Little decorating is necessary, because of the beautiful surrounding area.   See names of recommended supplier of candles, etc. at end of document.  Decorating times:  Decorating may begin at 9 am on the day of the wedding.  All decorations must be removed before 9.00 am on the day after the wedding.

 

		Names of recommended service providers  -  available from us.                                                      Confirmation and Payment:  To secure the booking R3000 (not refundable) has to be paid into Strandkombuis account, Standard Bank, Account No 07 222 6021, Wellington branch (code 050 710).  The deposit will be subtracted from the final amount to be paid two weeks before your wedding.  Final payment.  The final number of guests must reach us two weeks before the wedding, when the final invoice will be issued and payment made.  Accommodation.   Rustic Strandkombuis B&B.  situated right next to Sandpiper (sleeping 75 people) - a dune separates the B & B from the sea.    Please contact Caroline  – caro.book@mweb.co.za. regarding  accommodation.   A first come, first served policy is maintained.   You are advised to book rooms 2 – 8 within the Sandpiper complex. Directions.   Take the N1 from Cape Town to Paarl.    Then the 2nd left turnoff left – Paarden Eiland/R27.    Follow the R27 (West Coast Road) for approximately 80 km.  Turn LEFT at Yzerfontein turnoff.      Carry on straight for about 6 km till.  You will see Strandkombuis sign on your right.   Follow our directions for 3 kilometres through the veld.   Please drive slowly – nature reserve.  (Approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from Cape Town.)

Accommodation
For your convenience you can book accommodation at the Strandkombuis B&B for your wedding at Sandpiper. Room rates per person per night up to the beginning of August 2008 are as follows      Normal room rates:  R230 - R300 depending on room size. The Red Apple Room is the Honeymoon Suite and is R320.  If your booking is for after 1st of September 2008 the room rates (price pp per night) will be as follows: R250 - R330 and the Honeymoon Suite is R350. . Time to book in:  between 12h00 & 18h00.    . English breakfast will be served on Strandkombuis deck between 08.30 and 09.30 in the morning.   . Time out 10h00, after which time the cleaners arrive. . We are a B&B, but have created braai facilities for your convenience. At the reception area, you will find an inside and outside braai, as well as a kitchen, microwave and fridge/deep freeze, cutlery and crockery.  Broken glasses will be R20 ea. The cost involved for using these facilities and cleaning the venue will be R20 pp.  Please bring your own meat, bread, salads.  (We can provide a firewood kit for R30.)   . During the colder months it is advisable to bring along your favourite blanket.  . We are sorry but no dogs are allowed at the B&B. . Deposit:  Weddings guests only do not have to pay a deposit.
