| Why You Need a Professional Wedding Photographer. |
 |
The most important aspect of your wedding - way more important than "the dress", venue, flowers, hairdresser, shoes, in fact anything - is the photographer as these are a recording of the most important day of your life together so far. So the choice you make of photographer is vital to this record of memories. When all fuss and stress of the wedding day is over, and your honeymoon feels like a dream, your albums and scrap books will be what you turn to to relive this special time of your life. So you want these photos to be as beautiful and enduring as possible. It is worth taking your time in choosing the right photographer for your needs.
A professional photographer is one who makes a living from photography; and more especially as far as a wedding photographer is concerned, from wedding photography. To find the perfect photographer takes time and effort. Have a look at your friends' wedding photographs and if they appeal to you and are presented in an attractive way, then this is a good way of finding your photographer. Did the photographer keep his end of the bargain as regards deadlines? If the couple are still waiting for their pictures 6 months later, then steer clear. A professional sticks to deadlines and has an understanding of how important these pictures are to the bride and groom.

A professional photographer doesn't panic under pressure. On the wedding day there will be plenty of stress around, but they should be able to keep their cool and make their job look effortless. They need to be in tune with you and your needs and not forget to take important shots of the bouquet, the bride's beautiful shoes, the special floral arrangements, the gorgeous cake. Most of the time the bride and groom will be so busy with guests and all that is happening around them, that this record of the details of the wedding are so important as in the rush of the day they probably wont have time to take it all in. So later they can browse through their photos and enjoy for a second time the beauty of the details of their wedding day.
Attend wedding shows and fairs. These can help educate you as to trends in photography and what different photographers offer. Some offer a coffee-table style book that is great to have as it is easier to show off than an album. Others may be able to capture a particular look that appeals to you. Some may be more creative, others more traditional.

When you have narrowed down your search, then it is the time to make and appointment and visit them at their studios. Have a look at their work, ask questions about deadlines and timelines. You should have a good idea of the style of your wedding that you must communicate to him or her. Do they know your venue, and if they don't, do they make a point of visiting it before the wedding so they know where to set lights, stand, the best place for the family shots, etc. You should also have a list of pictures you want. Which are the details that are important to you? He/she must be able to tell you the cost for a fixed number of hours, and how much it will cost if you over run these. Are they flexible? You must like the person and be able to communicate easily. It is your day and your opinion is the most important here, so the photographer must make the time and effort to get to know you.
Does the photographer offer an engagement shoot, or a pre-wedding shoot? This is a great idea as not all of us are professional models who are comfortable with the camera trained on us hour after hour. It enables both of you to become relaxed with the idea of a camera pointed at you all the time, and the more relaxed you are on the day the happier you will feel!
As a professional photographer, his/her priority is to give superb service both before and after the wedding. His livelihood depends on you being happy with his service, giving referrals to family and friends and ultimately returning to him/her on the occasion of the christening of your first baby or other such important family happenings! His/her best way of growing and maintaining their business is by being punctual, keeping to deadlines and delivering such good service that you wouldn't hesitate to recommend him/her to your family and friends.
