About the forum | embassy hill Accommodation

The Ambassador’s Room – Our Upstairs Cottage

After the Hamilton Russels sold the house to the Dutch and the ambassador lived here with his family before we bought the property we couldn’t think of a more fitting name for this luxurious room with its large terrace with pergola and the most spectacular views of the constantia valley wine farms and mountains.

The Bishop’s Room – Our Downstairs Cottage

Named after Bishop David Russels who was known for laying down in front of a bulldozer intent on destroying the self-built houses of families in District 6. The room gives access to a private outside area to relax or enjoy your breakfast.

Ms Molly’s Room

Named after the loving wife of Hamo. This room has a juliette balcony overlooking the pool and a 2nd balcony to sit at while drinking your early morning coffee. The room also have american shutters that opens to marvelous views of the mountains.

Hamo’s Room

Named after James Hamilton Russell “Hamo” (MP) who built the house as a private residence in 1952, this room comes with beautiful french doors that open up to private section of the gardens.
